David Woynerowski
Principal
David Woynerowski first joined First Annapolis in 1998, left for two years to pursue his MBA, returned in 2002 as a Consultant, promoted to Senior Manager in 2007and was most recently to Principal. His industry focus is card issuing, with a focus on partnership formation and retail finance. His client assignments have included developing marketing strategies, conducting RFP processes, valuing and selling portfolios, performing strategic industry assessments and implementing operational redesign. He has extensive merger and acquisition advisory and partnership formation experience, having provided advisory support on the sale of several of the industry’s largest private label portfolios, advised Sony and Daimler Chrysler on the sale of their co-branded credit card portfolios, and assisted two clients in the sale of their commercial card portfolios. Recently, David has been heavily involved in the renegotiation and product expansion of several existing retail partnerships, including the renegotiation of a leading specialty retailer’s private label credit card program agreement to include a co-brand product and the management of an RFP process for another major specialty retailer to select an issuer for a de-novo small business co-branded credit card.
Examples of David’s more significant consulting assignments include assisting multiple major U.S. issuers with private label and co-brand market entry strategies, conducting sustainability assessments of in-house co-branded credit card businesses, developing a payments strategy framework for one of the nation’s largest financial institutions, advising several issuers on co-branded credit card vertical market dynamics and portfolio bidding strategies, and advising multiple retailers on the potential for private label and co-branded credit cards to augment their retail strategies.
Previously, David spent a summer as an M.B.A. marketing intern at Whitehall Robins developing new product acquisition strategies. Previous to First Annapolis, David worked as an analyst at Coopers & Lybrand Consulting in New York City, where he was a member of the Financial Services practice.
Mr. Woynerowski received his M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia, where he won the prestigious Shermet Award, and his B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame as a member of the Sigma Gamma Tau Academic Honor Society.
